HP EliteBook x360 1040 G9 2-in-1 Core i7 12th Gen, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Touch (Refurbished) – A Video-Call-First Convertible With a 5MP Auto-Framing Camera
The refurbished HP EliteBook x360 1040 G9 is a 14-inch business convertible built around clearer video meetings. It carries a 5MP camera with HP Auto Frame, which keeps you centred on screen as you move, together with a 940nm IR camera for Windows Hello face login. In addition, a time-of-flight presence sensor detects when you sit down or step away, so the laptop can wake or lock itself. As a result, Teams and Zoom calls from a Kilimani home office or a Westlands boardroom look sharper and more professional than on older 720p business laptops.
Under the keyboard, a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor (i7-1255U or vPro i7-1265U, depending on unit) delivers 10 cores, 12 threads and turbo speeds up to 4.8GHz, alongside Intel Iris Xe Graphics with 96 execution units. Meanwhile, 16GB of LPDDR5-4800 memory and a 256GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD keep multitasking smooth. The 14-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) touchscreen uses a taller 16:10 aspect ratio and folds into laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes inside a precision-crafted magnesium chassis that passed MIL-STD 810H tests. Furthermore, Wi-Fi 6E, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HP Fast Charge (50% in 30 minutes) round out the package. Every unit arrives refurbished, tested and inspected for dependable daily use.

Who This Laptop Is Best Suited For
As a result of this combination of specs, three types of users benefit most:
- Remote and hybrid workers who spend much of the day on video calls and, therefore, value a 5MP auto-framing camera over a basic 720p webcam.
- Consultants and client-facing managers who present in tent mode and want a light, durable convertible for travel between Nairobi and regional offices.
- Trainers, coaches and online educators who teach live sessions and stay in frame while moving around their space.
For fixed office or reception workstations, however, a desktop may suit better; browse our range of HP Desktops to complete your setup.
